How To Train A Well Behaved Dog
Properly training your dog will allow you to coexist with ease and become best pals. Your dog will be more predictable when he is trained in the right way. A well-trained dog can be left in a house alone is well behaved around visitors and is generally a joy to be around. The time spent training a dog is paid back tenfold during your dog's lifetime. Training is not easy, but it is very rewarding.
If you teach your dog the right way to act at the beginning you will have a good dog. Bad habits are hard to break, so start training your dog early. Don't give the dog food from the table if you don't want him to beg for food later.
Here are a few ways to make crate training more positive for your dog. If your dog does not want to go into the crate but one of his favorite toys inside and close the door. They will see the toy inside the crate and will want in the crate to get it. After they enter the crate, be sure to give them love and attention to let them know they did something to please you.
A puppy should have chew toys to get him through the teething pains. Keep other things out of his reach. Give it an actual chew toy in its place. To help your dog cope with painful teething, give him a wet washcloth that has been frozen.
You should always walk your dog before leaving your house for long periods of time. Not only do you want your dog to relieve himself, but you also want to make him tired so he relaxes and doesn't suffer from anxiety while you're gone.
Prior to ever leaving your dog at home alone for a considerable length of time, make sure he has a good long walk. If you are able to tire your pets out, they will not be as anxious when it is time for you to go.
It's important your dog always has an understanding of right from wrong. This demands that everyone at your home applies strict boundaries. This will quickly undo all of your hard work and training.
